Hello and welcome! I am in the business of empowering you to heal yourself on all levels - mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical. This is done through the different kinds of energy therapies that I provide. These therapies are safe for adults, children of all ages, and animals of all sizes and kinds. Some of the therapies I provide are Reiki, IET, Magnified Healing and Avesa. I will often combine modalities in a session.
Whether it is called chi, ki, or prana, a variety of cultures acknowledge the existence of a universal life force that flows through the human body. Also acknowledged is the existence of a field of layered energy around the body called the aura with energy centers called chakras dispersed throughout. Sometimes the flow of energy becomes blocked for a variety of reasons. If left untreated, these energy blockages could manifest themselves into actual physical ailments and create dis-ease within the body. Therapies such as massage, acupuncture, Reiki, IET and others seek to remove these blockages and start the flow of energy once more. Over time, the dis-ease that was caused by the energy blockage may lessen or heal* completely.
Unique. I don't know too many energy healing practitioners who have a dog as their partner! In fact, although there may be some, I don't personally know any! When you arrive at my doorstep, you will be greeted by myself and my highly enthusiastic partner, Buddy. This means he will be barking his head off. Not to worry, though. This is Buddy's way of greeting you and getting down to business. You may not know it, but Buddy will already have begun working on you. To find out more about Buddy, go to Buddy's page.
After this greeting, Buddy will show you to the healing room. Buddy may stay in the room with us, or he will do his work from outside the room. Depending on the time of day, natural light, or soft lamp light will light the room. Soft music will be playing in the background. Scented electric candles will be "burning" and either an oil diffuser or scented tart will dispearse a pleasing aroma throughout the room.
If it is your first time, you will fill out some paperwork after which you will lay comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed, with a pillow for your head and under blankets to keep warm.
Reiki and IET are performed using a series of gentle hand placements on various parts of the body although the technique and hand placements differ slightly with each method. It is also possible with both methods for the practitioner to work in your aura, the energy field around your body. In that case, you may feel only one hand or even no hands on you. At some point during your Reiki session (towards the end) you may be asked to turn over on your stomach (but only if this is comfortable for you and your condition permits it) so that Reiki can be given to you in this position. However, an entire IET session is performed while you lay on your back. Your first IET session will be an Intermediate level one, but if you've had experience receiving IET sessions before and would like to work on releasing any resistance to living your soul's mission, a series of muscle tension and relaxation exercises can be incorporated into an Advanced IET session. If your condition does not permit it, Reiki and IET sessions can be given while you are seated in a chair.
During either type of session, you may have some kind of healing reaction. You may cry. You may laugh. You may yawn. Twitching is not uncommon. If you've just eaten (or even if you haven't), your stomach may gurgle. You may also feel warmth or tingling sensations. These are all good. It means the energy is working and helping you to release any emotional or physical stress. It will be my job to support your through these reactions in a gentle, caring manner.
After your session, you will take your time getting up off the table (you will be very relaxed) while I get you a drink of water. Reiki practitioners give a variety of reasons as to why this is important. The one that best explains it for me is the one that simply states that because of the energetic nature of Reiki, the Reiki flows easier through a hydrated environment. This goes for the practitioner as well as the client. Whatever the reason for having a glass of water after a session, water is good for you and drinking some will give you a chance to gather yourself together as you prepare for your trip home.
Adult sessions last about 60 minutes and cost $65. A discounted rate of $60/session applies if you sign up for 3 sessions at one time ($180).
Children sessions last up to 30 minutes and cost $35. A discounted rate of $30/session applies if you sign up for 3 sessions at one time ($90). Pet sessions are available for the same rate.
If it is you or your child's first time, please allow an additional 15 minutes which will be used to fill out paperwork.
Gift certificates are available.
